The Black Forest Westfalias experience is a cut above. Our small fleet of 4 vans is meticulously maintained and perfectly modified and upgraded (see below) for Northwest adventure, from campgrounds and state parks to wild camping in open forest. For ten years our family has lived and breathed Westy camping in this region, finding those hidden spots and routes less-traveled, and now it is our great joy to share what we have learned with our renters. Let us outfit you with the vehicle and knowledge to go beyond. There is so much more to see!
Black Forest Westfalias are compact, nimble, aesthetic campers that park and drive more like a single cab Toyota pickup than an RV, but can sleep 4 adults and sport a fully functioning, propane-powered kitchenette. Vanagon campers were close to perfection right off the assembly line in Westphalia, but we've poured every ounce of off-road and family camping experience into making these adventure mobiles even better.
All of our vans have lifted off-road suspension and are re-powered with Ford Zetec DOHC engines. Bigger wheels and AT tread stretch their off-piste capacity, and each are equipped with auxiliary batteries and upgraded, 3-window canvas tents. With better gas mileage (20-24 MPG), vastly superior engine performance and beefed up suspension, the region's best wild camping spots are yours to discover.
Ours is the region’s only 100% engine-converted and trail-customized Vanagon fleet!
The inside of a Vanagon Westfalia is nothing shy of engineering genius, with a ton a function and not an inch of wasted space. A fully stocked Westy carries 14 gallons of fresh water. It has a sink and faucet. The refrigerator and stove run on propane which, if filled, can last well over a week of camping (daily refrigerator and stove use). The upper and lower bunks are roomy and comfortable, and well-designed cabinetry provides ample space for your gear and supplies.
Each van has the following provisions (see RATES page for full list):
full tank of propane and H2O
cooking and eating utensils
upgraded stereo and speakers (radio, CD, USB plugin)
We also offer add-ons (again, full list on RATES page):
roof top storage basket
rear mount bike rack
canoe with paddles and life vests
propane interior space heater
